Hawaii – Manoa Falls – Electric Beach – Backpacks back!!!

We had fried egg and cereal for breakfast. Freshly strengthened we drove to Manoa. The track to the waterfall only took about an hour, but was a little slippery in places. Scenes from Jurassic World were filmed here and you can really imagine meeting a dinosaur there. Rainforest with giant ferns and huge trees with vines.

Pink flowers, birds chirping and mountains shrouded in mist. Just “Jurassic Park.”

The waterfall itself was very nice, but closed off around the pool. You could not jump in! Then we wanted to check out a few more beaches. Electric Beach is known for having turtles swimming around there often. Today, however, it was a bit rainy from the afternoon on and there were many surfers in the high waves. Also megainteressant to watch them surfing. In between we got a call from Hawaiian Airlines that our luggage arrived in Honolulu. We went to the airport to pick it up again super happy. Now I just have to submit the receipts for our purchases for reimbursement. For dinner we made penne with salad.

Hawaii – Oahu – Kailua Bay – Hanauma Bay Snorkeling

By the way, we went back in time and experienced 1/23/2019 minus one hour twice. Weather Today: 80 degrees Fahrenheit = 26.6 degrees Celsius. We drove a bit along the southern tip of the island after breakfast. We only took a quick look at Kailua Bay Beach. – beautiful! Then we drove to the Hanauma Bay Underwater Park on the recommendation of Amanda (hostess AirBB). She also kindly lent us her snorkeling gear and a beach towel.

It is a great bay with coral reef. Well organized, with 3 lifeguard houses, toilet and kiosk. Costs USD 7.50 pP entrance fee and very nicely laid out. Each visitor first watches a film on how to behave in the reef, for the protection of nature and own safety. Then it goes down a road and into the sea. It is like a huge aquarium only not fenced. We saw whales in front of the bay. I had to get used to diving goggles and fins first, but then it was really great. The corals in about 1-3 m depth with lots of colorful fish.

Whales and fish in the sea and on the beach birds and mongoose (mongoose) entertained us. Totally cute, look like meerkats. Our backpacks have not yet reappeared. Therefore we went shopping again. At “Ross – Dress for less” and at “Walmart”.

Honolulu – without luggage!

The flight with Hawaiian Airlines was also nice. We got an upgrade to seats with a little more legroom and were able to sleep well on the plane. Also, my pre-order for vegetarian food was forwarded to this flight. However, in Honolulu we waited in vain for our backpacks! Very annoying as it cost a lot of time. To the luggage service, report loss, make several phone calls and go to the airport again tomorrow to pick up the backpacks. If it works out. Hawaiian Airlines take care anyway very well, and I was allowed to buy the most necessary for the bridge. Hope they find a bikini necessary!!!

Anyway, our Air B+B is very nice, a room in a shared apartment in Kaneohe with 2 young women. We picked up our rental car (right-hand traffic again), did a little shopping as I said and made us some raw food with bread and dip in the evening. Aloha!

Kalibo – Manila – Sydney

Morning rainy weather in Kalibo. 29 degrees.

In a propeller machine we went from Kalibo to Manila. We were sitting at the emergency exit in the opposite direction. But it had a little more foot space.

Boracay – Relaxday

Today we let it go a little quieter. A bit of beach and some lessons theory for the diving certificate learned.

In the evening, in a Thai restaurant, we had a funny conversation with a Japanese couple. A nice conclusion on St. Nicholas' Day!

Philippines – Travel Day

Today we had a 3.5 h flight from Singapore to Kalibo and then a 4 h long drive (congestion due to accident) with a van to a small ferry to Boracay! The weather was not so great, so the flight was a bit rickety and the ferry was a bit rocky! Kalibo Airport is small and snazzy. A hall for everything! Border control, departure, baggage belt, customs. Shuttle services are available right in front of the terminal. We have at a company KIA TSC for Van/Boot 250 PHP pP. Paid! In addition, a fee of 175 PHP pP was added in the port. and on Boracay 150 PHP for transport by tricycle! We had to show our hotel booking confirmation and got a stamp on our hand. Not all hotels on the island are allowed to accommodate guests after the reopening.

In any case, car traffic is quite different! We drove from the ferry dock to the hotel in a kind of covered motorcycle sidecar taxi with 3 wheels. A Pole that already made the island 10th Times visited, invited us. Here is right-hand traffic again! Many people stand on loading areas of trucks or sit on bus roofs while driving!

In the rain! ?Arriving in the dark and in bad weather is always a bit unpleasant. For tomorrow, only 40-50% of the precipitation is forecast, so let's take a look around.

Singapore – Gardens by the Bay

Scoot Airlines departed for Singapore at 9:10 a.m. Once again an hour time difference and a new country. Now we are 7 hours ahead of German time. Singapore is (first impression) super modern and lightning-clean. In addition, there are suddenly far fewer people and cars on the road here. No Hupt!! You only have to be careful because there is left-hand traffic here. Today we live in the 18th Floor at Hotel Boss! Have a beautiful view of the city.

In the afternoon we were in Little India food and then drove with the grave to the Gardens by the Bay. The light and sound show that takes place there every day at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm to bring the Supertrees to life was truly spectacular! Pop – music by Abba, BeeGees, Chic-Le Freak, Grease, … .And a backdrop like Avatar. Great station wagon, we liked it. After that we are quite comfortable with the metro back to the hotel.
